finals week, football and cinnamon roles

You know its finals week when...

You can't remember the last time you showered

You refer to every part of your body by its correct anatomical name ie which muscle it is, the origin insertion and action and which bone it corresponds with.

You forget what you're saying in the middle of your final math presentation because your brain is conjugating past-tense spanish verbs

You have piles of clothes on the floor (clean and dirty), every dish in the sink (from a week ago) and a clogged shower drain... But you don't care because you don't shower anyways and who cares that you wore that same pair of jeans for the last 3 days

You fridge looks like this because you forgot to go grocery shopping

and lastly you find yourself counting down the days to academic freedom by the number of credit hours you have left...

oh finals week how we despise you.

Here is what we did to ease our stress...
Did you know Pillsbury uses ingredients to help you memorize things?! Who woulda thought.

I really liked my tights today and wanted to share them with you.

These are our need-more-sleep-or-i'm-gonna-bust-a-cap sexy faces

One more week then its PAR-TAY for CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

oh and David just shared this commercial with me.

He LOLs every time

Should I be worried??

Kris Kringle Tradition and other weekend shenanigans

Davids family has a pretty sweet Christmas tradition. On the eve of the first Sunday in December, the kids set out a pair of shoes and Kris Kringle comes to fill them with small present and sweets! The tradition originated  a long long time ago back in Holland. Papa Olsen served his mission in Germany where they too celebrate Kris Kringle and Davids family has done ever since!

It was so fun to wake up this morning and find a NEW pair of shoes filled with German chocolate and other little gifts! I can't wait to carry this tradition of with our future family.

Kris Kringle has a good taste in shoes
That chocolate was tempting me all morning before Church!

This weekend we did some more Christmas shopping and celebrated my girl Rachels 22 birthday at Big Judds. I was super stoked to go because i've never been before!

The burgers were OK the ice cream sucked and the fries weren't to shabby. Nothing to write home about. haha. David got sick almost immediately after finishing his burger so he wasn't to thrilled.

Earlier that day  we were Christmas shopping for our first stockings, and we came across the following...

A rad pair of antlers. Next years Christmas cards hahahaha
A duo of fashionable feathers trees.

 An overpriced berry wreath

and this awesome-spice sparkle mirror.

We found some beautiful stockings and now our little apartment is filled with Christmas cheer!
Our wee little Christmas Tree!

 How beautiful is that stocking?

I love love love everything about this season. The yummy smells, the beautiful colors, the oh so delish baking, the music and the cold weather. Although this will be my frist Christmas ever away from my family, I am so happy to be celebrating our first Christmas together.

Davey and I wanted to get some pictures in the snow for Christmas cards.
Twas yet another fail.
Not only was it freakin cold, but this Rexburg wind is oh so not forgiving.
Take a gander

Isn't david just rockin that peacoat? mmm :)

I love it when I match slug bugs.
We did get one that we liked.
If you're special you just might get your very own Olsen Christmas card!

Happy Monday!

This always happen to me

I ALWAYS get sick during the holidays.
Boooooo
On the bright side of things, I gave in and started decorating for Christmas early. I couldn't help it. It has looked liked Christmas time here in Rexburg since end of of October! I mean really, it went from this-

to this in like 3 days time.

But really, we are not complaining. This is DEF my fav time of the year.
As far as our plans for el Dia de Gracias, D-boy and I are chillin here in the berg mostly because as the newest sandwich maker-er I got stuck working the whole week! Lamespice. But it should be fun, we have our whole week planned christmas shopping, baking and a whole lot of catching up on sleep.
Here is some snap shots of our christmas decorating/shopping.

Can we just talk about how the wreath just screams JESSICA!?

Wreath, Get on my door!

At K-MART they have this cute crafty-ish tree. Not my style, but really, how adorable?

Oh hay! Look at me posing in my rad pea-coat next to the awesome craft tree!

In the meantime, I will be trying really really hard to enjoy football with the hubby, sip on hot tea (caffeine-free duh) to soothe my sore throat and watch the snow falling beautifully outside my window.

Another perfect Sunday afternoon

De Mudder N’ Law

Is the name of my new FAVORITE sandwich.

I got a new job couple weeks ago at GATOR JACKS.

The new store opens up in Rexburg December 1.

Y'all should come in and try some gator bites or a yummy sandwich.

Seriously, they're delish, cheap and somewhat healthy.

Check out the menu below (:

300 Spartan Cross-fit Challenge

What is it?

25-Pull ups
50-dead-lifts (135 lb bar)
50-push-ups
50-box jumps
50-floor wipers (135 lb bar)\
50-  One arm Clean and Press 25 reps each arm (35 lb dumb bell)
25- Pull ups

The Challenge? Complete each exercise as FAST as you can!
David did this workout every other day on his mission and lemme tell ya, he was ripped!
I wanted to challenge myself and see where my fitness level was so we did this at the gym yesterday.

Just so you know, I cut the weight in half and simplified a few of the exercises.

For example:
The pull ups I completed on an assisted pull ups machine.
I used a 60 lb bar for the dead-lifts and the floor wipers.
I did the push ups on my knees and
For the one arm clean and press I used a 15 lb dumb bell

I finished in 22:51 secs. My goal was to finish in at least 30 min. I have NEVER been so wiped out in my entire life after a workout. Hands down one of the toughest workouts I have ever done.

This morning I woke up in so much "good" pain. I could not even extend my arms my muscles were so tight.
We're incorporating this bad-A workout it in our new fitness program each week.

You guys should try it. I dare you!

"He told me that he loved me"

I love Sundays. Today especially has been a good one. As I sit here snuggled up in my robe listening to the sound of rain trickling down outside and getting the occasional whiff of my pumpkin scented candle I can't help but be grateful. My heart is overflowing with love for my Savior. I can't believe how absolutely blessed I am. I also can't believe how much has changed in the past couple years and how life feels like it is set on fast forward. Today I was feeling a bit nostalgic and decided to pull out some of my old journals.

Journal writing has always been a big part of my life. I am so glad that I kept up with it so long .I love going back and reading about different events that seemed so important to me at the time. Its amazing to see the transformation from little girl, to prepubescent teen to womanhood just in my writing. I have come so far both
emotionally and spiritually.

This is part of an entry I wrote a year ago-

October 19, 2009
Dear Journal,
He told me he loved me...
He called me on his lunch break. He works the late shift.
I cried. My heart is swollen and full of love
I love him too.
It scares me how fast it is all happening.
At this point i'm not even going to worry whats going to happen in the future.
I love him and I want to cherish every moment I have with him.
...Oh life is just wonderful! I just want to sing and dance and never stop smiling.
I am in LOVE and OH does it feel so wonderful...
