Arrrrr Mountain

Did you like that pirate play on words? haha.

Yesterday David and I checked something off our Idaho Bucket List! As you may have already guessed, we hiked the infamous 'R' Mountain. Despite that it was 39 degrees, full on raining and then hailing we did it. It was fun and a pretty fast hike. I was out of breath at first (not gonna lie) but the scenery was absolutely beautiful! Take a look for yourself.

Can't you tell I'm so stoked for our next Idaho adventure. Boo yah.

attempted domestication

As some of you may know, I quit my job at Gator Jacks. (long effing story....) So for the past couple weeks I have had sooo much extra free time in the afternoon/evenings I didn't know what to do with myself. I mean really people, there are only so many naps one can take. I went and bought myself a cute floral apron (which has since become my everyday household uniform, clothing optional underneath haha) and got to work. It was the first time since we've been married that I was able to keep a spic and span apartment. I stated with making our bed every morning. That step is important because if I didn't do it nothing else would ever get done. Laundry was always folded and put away and I never let a dish pile up in the sink. David and I promised each other to keep our dirty cloths and shoes off the floor. I don't know why that is such a hard concept to keep. I have a huge shoe rack on my door and I still leave my shoes scattered through out living room, hallway etc.

Moving on-
As the days rolled on,  I kept to my cleaning routine and I decided maybe I should take a turn and actually make dinner for once. (David does most the cooking in the this house) Quickly passing over that thought I decided to make dessert instead! Good idea huh? Well, this is where all-recipes.com and baking blogs got me into a lot of trouble....

 Behold: Peanut-butter-marshmallow-chocolate-frosted cookies

Behold: Strawberry Shortcake, fresh strawberries and homemade whipping cream!

Behold: Peanut-Butter cheesecake with pretzel crust and Carmel drizzle

 Behold: Da Best Banana Bread

(I apologize for the cleavage shot...)

David loves coming home to a clean house and something yummy in the oven but we both know that I  either need to tone the down the baking or up our workouts to daily doubles! We are both feeling the affects of all that butter, sugar and heavy whipping cream.

Lesson learned: staying home and doing wife/momma duties is pretty bomb.com. I can't wait to add a little tyke into the equation, or like six of them :)

Happy three day weekend.

Idaho Bucket list

David and I decided that for our last semester up here in little Rexburg Idaho we were going to live it up and create our own Idaho Bucket list. We want to leave this grand state we've called home for the past year knowing that we had done everything it has to offer. I've been up here since Summer of 2008 and I haven't even been to Yellowstone...

Here is our tentative list:

Visit/Camp Yellowstone
Do a session at the Idaho Falls Temple
Hike/Sight see Tetons

If you know of any other 'MUST SEE/DO' things here around the burg. Holla back at us!

Random Series of Events.

People, its official, spring has sprung in Rexburg Idaho. I thought i'd never see the day.

Kate turned 21! We celebrated at Olive Garden and the local bar in Rexburg aka Applebees. We giggled and reminisced all night. It was amazing.

I watched this tutorial and fell in love with this scarf-braid thingy. I got felt so hippy-beachy-cool. It will be a essential summer look for me.

David joined the track team here at BYU-I. He got shin splints and pulled his hammy two days ago.

I got a bike. (more to come)

Sparkle toes and my favorite new summer sandals.

Showing off our Sunday outfits since that about the only time we really get dolled up these days.

and finally, Kiwi face.

Happy Friday.

Easters and other April leftovers

This was the extent of our Easter celebration:

My gal kate and I had the opportunity to attend "The Daybook Blogger Meetup." Let me tell you my fellow daybook stalkers... It was lame.com. There was MAYBE 30 people there at one time. It was awkward beyond belief and her husband was way more fun to talk to haha. We had fun people watching the desperate girls trying to be just like Sydney. Anyways here are some snapshots of the evening.

Overall i've learned that Sydney is totally not as cool as she appears to be on her blog. She is just another regular -average- mormon -married girl who happens to be as big as my pinky finger and has an OK taste in cloths. Thats all.

Happy May.
