thanksgiving break

Thanksgiving break was pretty uneventful. We meandered down to Utah for a few days to visit the in-laws and then spent the rest of the week relaxing at home. Remington got to spend lots of time going on wagon rides with Grandpa and playing blocks with Grandma. He was in heaven! Shopping at Ikea was the highlight of my trip. We picked out some really cute Christmas presents for Remi.  It was a much needed break from busy school and work schedules. I'm trying my hardest to stay motivated but all I want to do is snuggle with my boys and watch Christmas movies all day. Only eight more days of school, then finals, and then we're off to warm, sunny Arizona. Can't wait.

Lately

We are keeping pretty busy over here these days.  I just registered for what was supposed to be my last semester. I'm being held hostage and have to stay and take one more 2 credit class in the spring because said class was conveniently scheduled at the same time as another class I have to take. ugh.

soclosetobeingdone.

David is still the best house-husband around. He is the best Dad too. I love coming home from school to my two favorite men. Last weekend he competed in the CrossFit games here on campus. He placed in the top 10! Rem and I had lots of fun cheering him on.

We're heading to Utah for Thanksgiving with the in-laws  I'm excited to get some Holiday shopping done while we are there.

In other news, my Stroller Boot Camp class is starting to pick up! Every class, I've had at least one new Mom show up. It has been such a fun experience learning how to teach and plan workouts and keep thing interesting etc. In January i'll be getting my AFAA group fitness certification. Which means I can teach any type of group fitness class anywhere!

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Now here's a phone-picture dump.

Happy Sunday!

Pinterest Project: Sparkly Deer Head

Last night my friend Carlie and I had a craft night. We saw these sparkly deer heads on Pinterest and HAD to make them. Porters was having a sale on canvases, so we stocked up. I LOVE how they turned out. Can't wait for the next one-

Got Milk?

Remember in this post when I said I am an overproducer (aka full-time milk cow) in the breastfeeding world?

Well, I wasn't joking...

David wants his freezer back.

Last time we counted there were over 600oz.

Since i'm only pumping part time and Rem still prefers the original food source, my pumped- liquid -gold- stock- pile is overflowing and we no longer have room. To solve this problem, I decided to become a milk donor.

A few weeks back I got in touch with the National Milk Bank  and started the donation screening process. I should be hearing back from very soon to see if I'm a good candidate!

The donated milk will go to help premature and sick babies in hospitals across the nation. (You can read more about that process here.) I recognize that this milk-abundance is a blessing and I am so excited and thankful to be able to share it with other precious babies in need.

7 Months

Dear Remington,
These past couple weeks have been the so fun. You've hit some pretty cool milestones and have had many "firsts" this month. At 7 months you are a crazy fast crawler. I love when you follow me around the house and climb up my leg when you want to be picked up. No matter how good I think I cleaned you still manage to find a piece of nasty nast and put it into your mouth. You're getting so good and picking up food with your thumb and pointer finger and feeding yourself. I love that you lean in with an open slobbery mouth when we ask for kisses. You said your first word this month which happened to be "dada". Sometimes it sounds like "daddy."Dad likes to reminds me of this everyday. I was a little sad a first but I know I'm still your favorite. This month you have become more and more confident when standing. You can transition from the couch to the table with ease. You're love to stand up against your high chair and push it all over the kitchen. You are fearless! Everyday you wake up with a new bruise either on your face or all over you legs, there is no furniture you haven't fallen off of. You like to share your toys/food with me and Dad by putting them in our mouths. You like to walk while we hold your hands. You turn into a beast in the car if we keep you strapped down for longer than 15 minutes. You are never afraid to let us know exactly what you think. I love that you look over at me for approval when your about to do something. You are sooooo ticklish and have the cutest belly laugh. Swaddling you is still the only way we can get you to relax and fall asleep. You love being held close at night and being sung to. Your favorite games are "peekaboo" and "this little piggy. " And lastly no matter how many times I think your teething, nothing EVER comes through...

You make life worth living baby boy-

Love,
Momma
