outside

The 40 degree temperatures lured us outside today. Remington watched in awe at the planes soaring overhead. He picked up rocks one at a time, looked them over carefully before he tossed them to the ground. I loved how excited he was to show me each and every moldy leaf he found. Watching Rem take in the world around him has given me a new set of eyes. We are looking forward to many more days spent exploring the outdoors.

Happy Tuesday-

12 Months

Dear Remington,

This month we celebrated your first birthday. I seriously don't know how this year flew by so quickly. I remember your arrival into this world like it was yesterday yet our lives before you seems sooo long ago. It has been a very bittersweet month for your Dad and I. We have enjoyed every minute watching you grow up and transition from a squishy, wide-eyed little baby to a handsome, curious and bright little toddler. My sweet Remington, it has been my greatest privilege to be called your mother. You have taught me so much about myself, about life and most importantly, the things that matter most. I am so thankful that I get to spend my days with you at my side. Thank you for being your happy, handsome little self and for making your Momma and Daddy so proud!

Keep growing strong little man-

We love you so much,

Momma + Daddy

baby girl

 Baby girl's profile^^

 mid kick^^
 sweet little tootsies^^
hand by her face ^^

Well, looks like David was right! We feel so blessed to be adding a sweet baby girl to our little family. She was not shy at all during the ultrasound. In fact, she was spread eagle from the get go and flashed us her little bum right at the beginning. She seemed pretty relaxed the entire time and was very cooperative while the u/s tech took all her measurements. Her little mouth was opening and closing and she kept bringing her hands up to her face. She already weights 14oz and is measuring a little ahead of schedule. That doesn't surprise us at all since Remington was the same way. We grow big babies over here.

Typically, we only get a few souvenir pictures to take home but this time the tech gave us a ton! I hung them all on our fridge and I can't stop looking at her!! August seems soooooo far away... We can't wait for her to come! Until then, I will be buying obnoxious amounts of pink, lace and ruffles. Girl is going to be decked out.

He wasn't mean-muggin the whole time haha!
Love that little face.

random pregnancy thoughts at 20 weeks.

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant.
HALFWAY DONE!
20 more weeks and I am going to be a momma to TWO babies.
Tomorrow we find out if we are having a boy or a girl.
David is convinced we are having a girl.
I feel like it's going to be another boy.
Of course we will be happy either way.
Healthy baby is the most important thing.
We already have our names picked out.
He or she has started to kick more frequently.
Definitely my favorite part of growing a human.
The sleepless nights and aching back pains have already begun.
My little belly has popped out but I've yet to gain any weight.
I crave sour gummy worms every.single.day.
My skin sucks this time around.
My maternity pants are too baggy and my regular jeans are uncomfortably tight.
We bought Remington a baby doll so he could learn how to be "soft" and what the word "baby" means.
He gives her loves and kisses and then tosses her in the toy box when he done.
He's still got some time.
Tomorrow is going to be the longest day ever...
I'm hoping baby will be cooperative and show us the money shot.

Until then, here is a side by side comparison of my 20 week pregnant belly.

Lately...

The semester is coming to an end and I have spent the last few weeks focusing my full attention on my studies. Graduation is nearing and I can't help but be a nervous wreck about passing all my classes. I am determined to be done before this little one makes an appearance, even if it kills me!

Other than school, here is what we've been up to lately...

**We have caught SPRING FEVER!!! We've been outside, on bike rides and walks everyday since it's started to warm up. Remington is loving the fresh air and all the room to run around. Don't let me down Rexburg!

**After hours of late night talks, fasting and prayer, David has decided to change his carrer path and become a Physician Assistant. His original plan was to go into Chiropractics, but every time we'd talk about future plans he never felt right about it. We are so happy to be moving forward with this decision.

**Today I was officially offered a position as a nutrition specialist at the wellness center on campus. This job opportunity could not have come at a better time. It was truly an answer to our prayers. I'll just be working a few hours a week in the evenings. I can't wait to start!

**We purchased a double jogger! I know we were probably jumping the gun on this one but baby #2 will be here in 5 months sooooo I need time to break it in haha. Since we live in rural Idaho there aren't any retail stores that carry double joggers. I wanted to test run a couple before I decided so we ordered our two top contenders online and shipped them to our house. After listing out our pros/cons and pushing Rem around in each of them we decided on the Baby Trend. We could not be happier with it. Rem has loved the extra room. :)

clearly he didn't like the schwinn^^

what rem would look like if he was a girl ^^
