Flower Child(ren)

I kept driving by this little grove of trees and flowers and knew I had to take the girls back for some photos. I'm pretty obsessed with the end result! I had a hard time narrowing down but here are some of my favorites! I can't wait to get these printed for their room.

Naming Wolfe Wallace

Wolfe was ONE week old in these photos! He doesn't even look the same. He actually looks like he ate this baby lol.

***

We knew after we decided on the name Wolfe for our fourth born that we would get lots of mixed reactions.
People either love it or hate it and/or ask lots of questions about where it came from.
It has certainly been the biggest topic of conversation when people meet him for the first time.
I get it, it is totally out there... haha.
So I figured I'd write out the story of where it came from.

We when found out we were expecting another boy, we went right back to our running list of baby names.
I LOVE choosing boy names because we like pulling from our family history.
We narrowed down to two names, first and middle, but neither one was really doing it for me.
It was the first time I felt like I needed to meet the baby before deciding on it.

One day I was texting my mom some of our ideas and out of no where she suggested the name Wolf!
I wasn't hooked initially, but I wrote it down to bring to David to talk about it later.
Of course, he LOVED it!
I was still like eh, lets wait and see.
I mostly didn't like that we didn't really have a connection to it like we did with the other kids names.
Then one night David was on Family Search looking at our genealogy charts.
He goes "Jess, you will not believe it, check this out!"

And sure enough there was the surname WOLFE way back on David's line.
It came from the Nordic region.

I saw it spelled with the "E" at the end and fell in love!
I liked how the "E" ending shifted it from the animal to a more sophisticated name.

That night we also learned that David was related to the Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok! (Ya know, that one from the Viking show on history channel)
Ragnar has since been added to our future boy name list per Davids request haha.

(genealogy is so awesome)

We went back to our list to find a middle name and Wallace jumped right out.
Wallace was picked to honor my Scottish heritage- the Wallace Clan.
We are direct descendants of Sir William Wallace AKA Brave Heart.

I loved the alliteration and I also liked that he could use Wallace if he grew up and decided Wolfe wasn't for him.
(doubt that'll happen though, because you have to admit, it is a badass name)

We felt super confident choosing such a big name because with our genes, we knew there was no way he was going to be a small child.
At just two months old, he's already filling out quite nicely and living up to his name.

Wolfe is also referred to as,
Wolfie
Wolfie Wolfe
Woof
Woofie
Man Cub
Cheddar biscuit (love this one from my mom)
Sherman Tank (mom also calls him this haha!! WW2 reference in case you're wondering where that came from)
Brute
&
Moose

So that's how Wolfe Wallace came to be.

Also, this video  came out right after we picked his name
at 1:38 "you can't just name your kid Wolf because you think it's cool."

yes, yes you can.

Frances lately

Francie pants is 22.5 months old aka ALMOST TWO!
I swear, life is moving faster now that baby number 4 is here.
I literally can not keep up.

She is busy busy busy.
She absolutely will not sit still.
I can't get her to even chill for five minutes in front of the TV.
Not once has she EVER watched a movie or show.
She kind of just wonders around the house exploring and getting into things she shouldn't be.
It's a lot harder to keep her wrangled at my parents house.
She LOVES my sister Natassja and follows her around everywhere when she is home.
I love the bond that they have.
She's still napping once a day, usually for 1.5- 2 hours.
She sleeps in her crib with her binky, blanket, giant puppy dog and her baby.
She's been the only child who hasn't tried to escape the crib at this age.
We want to transition her to a twin bed in our next house (wherever that's going to be lol)
She was completely weaned from the binkys at one point but found a rogue one we must've forgotten to throw away, so she's back to those for just naps.

She's a total Daddy's girl!
She squeals and claps and runs to David, arms outstretched for him to pick her up when he gets home from work.
It's so stinking cute.

She is obsessed with shoes.
absolutely obsessed.
She takes them off and on a dozen times a day.
It's adorable/drives me crazy, especially when she takes them off in the car...
She super sneaky and loves taking toys away from Olive and Rem.
I swear she does it just to get a reaction from them.
She squeals and yells really loud when she doesn't get her way.

Graham crackers are her most favorite snack.
I love that she's not picky and will eat pretty much every thing we put in front of her.
She's currently learning how to ride on Rem's old balance bike and scooter.
She loves all animals, especially puppy dogs.

When she flashes those giant baby blues at you, it's sometimes hard to say no.
(David struggles with this more than I do, haha!)

And that's our Franny girl lately.
^^This cheese face, I can't even.
^^That belllllly

P.S
Frances and Olive were chosen to be brand reps for a new clothing shop on Instagram called Top Stitch Clothing Co. !!
Their clothing is so stinking adorable.
It's all handmade and everything is under $30.
We LOVE these little bloomers on Fran.
They are the perfect summer staple and show off her perfectly chubby little legs.

Remington turns FIVE

We celebrated Remington's Fifth birthday at the beginning of the month.
I felt a twinge of momma guilt that we didn't have a nice party planned for this milestone birthday.
We had just moved a week prior so everything was still kind of chaotic.
The evening before his birthday, Dave and I snuck out after the kids went to bed and picked up a few things to make it special.
(benefits of living with family = built in babysitters whoop whoop!)

He realllly wanted a pedal bike but we had done zero research prior to that evening about what size/brand to get him.
Of course, because we waited until the last minute, the store we went to only have 20" bikes left. We figured he was either tall enough for an 18" or 20" so we grabbed the bike and hoped for the best.
We also got  him a new pair of shoes and a few new outfits for summer.

The morning of his birthday I had David take the kids to go get donuts while I finished setting out his stuff.
We sang happy birthday ate donuts and took his birthday pics!
My sister Natassja was also born on March 3! She turned 19 this year. She's also single and ready to mingle so if any of you have a friend, brother or cousin available...;)
After everyone got home from work, the entire family met up at Olive Garden for the celebration dinner.
Remington and Natassja got a free desert and were sung to by the staff, the kids LOVED it.
Before we left I tried to get a photo of all of us together, but of course, we struggled haha.

His bike did end up being too big, so David exchanged it for an 18" one on his lunch break that day.
After dinner we all went out to the cul-de-sac to watch Rem ride his bike!
He picked it up SO fast!
He's ridden it everyday since.
We may not have had a big, decked out party, but I think it was just perfect for him and one that we will always remember.
We sure love our Remington!
