Valentines Day
Valentine's day was super low key this year.
It's usually one of my favorite holidays to celebrate but with this whole newborn and trying to figure out our new normal thing, it was put on the back burner.
A few days before we took the kids to Target to pick out what valentines they wanted to pass out.
They were so excited to write them up for all of their classmates.
They were also supposed to make valentine boxes to collect all their stuff from their classmates in but that was just too overwhelming for me to plan and oversee.
(When did this become a thing?! My social media feed was filled with the most gorgeous decorated boxes. Maybe next year i'll have my shit together. ha.)
I grabbed their old easter tote bags and pinned a few felt hearts over the bunny faces and called it good.
The morning of, Olive woke up with a high fever and was absolutely devastated that she couldn't attend her party and pass out her Valentines.
Thankfully, I was able to message her teacher and we were able to arrange to have Remington drop off her bag and bring it home for her after school.
She was so excited to see all the sweet notes, candy and little toys.
She and Rem spent the afternoon sorting through their haul.
Etta and I struggled all day and Wolfe and Fran survived off the giant box of sweet treats Grandma and Grandpa Olsen mailed to them.
David and I had agreed beforehand to not do presents or flowers or candy (still going strong sugar free! I didn't even crave it or miss it)
Yet he still showed up after work with a box of boob pads and my favorite protein powder that I had run out of.
That guy.
After the kids went to bed he made us a yummy pesto chicken and roasted potatoes and my favorite energy bites for "dessert."
We were so exhausted and in bed for the night around 8pm haha.
We are in the trenches right now with all these kids and sometimes it's hard to remember to put ourselves first.

I'm so glad he's mine because I literally couldn't do this all without him.
So happy he's my forever valentine.
